A goalies mental game is the most important part of a goalies game. But so few goalies work on this area of their training, especially young goalies. Some coaches say hockey is 90% mental and 10% physical and some say 80%-20%. There is no correct answer for this question, but all I can tell you is if you are not mentally focused in a game, it doesn't matter how much physically you prepared, you will not be at your best.
The goalie is the most important position in hockey. You are on the ice for the whole game and must be 100% concentrated throughout the whole game. If A player makes a mistake it will more than likely go unnoticed, but if a goalie makes a mistake the crowd cheers lights go off and everybody notices the mistake. Therefore you must be very strong mentally.
